Making a Self Care Commitment this Spring

Making a Self Care Commitment this Spring

“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”- Leo Tolstoy

“Nothing ever seems impossible in spring, you know.”- L.M. Montgomery

Dear friends,

With the coming of this new season comes new possibilities, and a renewed sense of hope.

Stress has become almost unavoidable for most of us, and searching for ways to combat that, and find the time to do is increasingly more difficult these days.

As the season changes, we would like to reintroduce ourselves, our commitment to your well being, and our purpose.

We are a team of New York State Licensed Massage Therapists and Estheticians.

Our focus is to perform these modalities to the best of our ability and to maintain a space of healing, comfort, and recovery. Each therapist has the goal of targeting the issue you are experiencing, whether it is injury related, chronic pain, or stress reduction.

Massage Therapy as a whole has a wide array of benefits.

•Reduces the stress hormone (cortisol).

•Helps to increase melatonin levels leading to improved sleep

•Activates white blood cells, an important part of your immune system

•Assists with relieving pain by increasing blood flow, flushing toxins, and reducing inflammation

When broken down into specific techniques such as assisted stretching, the use of hot or cold packs, cupping therapy, and manual trigger point therapy to name a few, your therapist can create a treatment plan for your unique needs.

It is my belief that the power of touch and the ability to feel the muscle tissue and where it needs repair is so important in the overall health of our bodies systems.

Aside from the physical benefit this provides, the energy exchange cannot be replicated by any fancy device, tool, or “new” technique (often times recycled and renamed techniques).

In other words, Massage, in my opinion, should not be distilled to a lesser form of therapy by reducing the amount of manual work performed (more on this in a future blog).

Skin Therapy is not just a simple face cleansing experience.

Facials help with collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, brightening areas of pigmentation, increases skins elasticity, and helps with blemishes and acneic skin.

Our Licensed Esthetician has created multiple treatment options that are not only effective in targeting specific issues, but are also highly relaxing and enjoyable experiences.

Every individual has different skin needs, and our belief is to address them with treatments that are as unique as your skin.

Using the CIRCADIA Skincare line of medical grade products during the treatment, coupled with the use of these products in your at home routine, the results you will see and feel will be undeniable. The CIRCADIA system works along with our bodies natural circadian rhythm.

All products are designed to target specific needs during the day and at night.

Now that the benefits have been laid out for what Massage and Skin Therapy can do, let’s discuss the commitment to self care we hope to help you make.

What are some of the reasons you (all of us) may not be making time for feeling as well as we should?

•Lack of time in daily schedule

•Cost/Expense

•Feeling as though it is indulgent or a luxury to receive these treatment types.

•Not enjoying a past experience with Massage or Skin Treatments

Making time for ourselves is very difficult. It can seem selfish or unimportant in the grand scheme of the responsibilities we have to ourselves and others we care for.

The old analogy of the flight attendants speech is something I reference often.

“In the event of an emergency, put the oxygen mask on yourself first.”

You cannot take care of those you love if you are not well or calm and grounded yourself.

We realize the difficulties life presents financially.

Yet, many times we spend more on coffee, clothing, hair, medications, and doctor copays, than we do on services that could help reduce the risk of becoming sick or injured.

Our Wellness program is a perfect way to help reduce the cost and guarantee you are taking care of yourself.

•No signed contract required

•$20 off of every/any service you receive

•No time wasted at the desk after your treatment.

•Medical Massage is sometimes covered by your insurance plan. We are an out-of-network provider, and you can verify if you have the coverage through our website.

As outlined earlier in this blog, our Therapists are here to make you feel comfortable and have the intention of helping you heal and alleviate your symptoms.

Through clear and open communication, you can express the pressure you require, any areas to avoid, preference for a quiet or chatty session, etc.

This is your time. Time you have taken for yourself, and time that you have entrusted our team with. That is never lost on us, and we are always mindful and grateful.

This Spring, please allow us to help get you on the path of Self Care.

Whether you are considering a more consistent routine, or trying our services for the first time, we are here to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Looking forward to working with you and hopefully being a part of this commitment.

Thank you, always.
